On June 1, the network of the Composites Germany trade association was expanded by the accession of Leichtbau Baden-Wuerttemberg (Leichtbau BW). "What belongs together comes together. Lightweight construction as a game changer technology will continue to gain in importance, also taking into account current climate protection efforts. This will perfectly complement the portfolio of Composites Germany and ensure sustainable synergies between the existing partners and their members," says Dr. Wolfgang Seeliger, Managing Director of Leichtbau BW.

This will perfectly complement the portfolio of Composites Germany and ensure sustainable synergies of the existing partners and their members. We are looking forward to the cooperation and are sure that it will bear fruit locally, nationally and internationally", says the managing director of Leichtbau BW, Dr. Wolfgang Seeliger.

In the future, the orientation of Composites Germany will not be limited to representing the interests of manufacturers and processors of composite components, but will also focus on the interaction with other materials in hybrid lightweight construction applications.

Presence at Composites for Europe

Marc Kirchhoff, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the VDMA Working Group on Hybrid Lightweight Construction Technologies on the upcoming Composites for Europe trade fair: "As in previous years, Composites Germany will support the Composites for Europe trade fair, which will take place in Stuttgart on 10-12 November, with its own joint stand and by organising the innovation forums, which will be presented in the trade fair halls. Top-class speakers will report on innovations and new applications in the fields of transport, construction & infrastructure, leisure & sport and the circular economy. The lecture program will be supplemented by the "Lightweight Construction Innovation Camp" technology day organized by Leichtbau BW.

A strong network in Germany and Europe

"Composites Germany is pleased to welcome and support Leichtbau BW as a new member. Composites Germany represents the German composites industry in Europe through its active membership in the European umbrella organization EuCIA and is the largest national network in this area," says Dr. Michael Effing, Chairman of the Board of AVK and Composites Germany. The EuCIA's Life-Cycle Assessment Tool, which is accessible free of charge to all processors, for the assessment of the environmental impact of component production, was significantly involved in the development of the tool. At present, the company is working on recycling concepts and solutions for European composites manufacturers.

Composites Germany is closely involved in the committees of the Lightweight Construction Initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics, both in the industrial advisory board and in the strategy circle of the country organisations.
